ELDER ANGELA BROWN
Angela Rena Brown was born January 2, 1967 to Charles and Helen Johnson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is the youngest of six children. Minister Angela has been happily married to Pastor Craig L. Brown, Senior Pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (St. Paul MBC) in Portland, Oregon for 28 years and they have one daughter, Ajai Shadae and a grandson Ashton Lamar Tyson.
Minister Angela served in the United States Army from November 1988 to December 1991 as a Medical Specialist. She served at Ft Knox, Kentucky and Kitzingen, Germany. She received numerous citations and was honorably discharged after completing her tour of duty.
Minister Angela was called into the ministry December 1999 during a New Year’s Eve service as an Aspiring Missionary at Abundant Life Church of God in Christ in Kitzingen, Germany, under the leadership of Elder Timothy Jones. While a servant at Abundant Life Minister Angela has held numerous positions to include: President of the Usher Board, President New Converts Class, Member of the Mother’s Board, Interim Young Peoples Willing Workers President, Sunday School Teacher, Beginner Sunshine Band Teacher and Praise Team Leader.
After a 10-year tour in Germany with the United States Army, Minister Angela moved with her husband (SFC (Retired) Craig Brown) and daughter to Olympia, Washington. She accepted her call into the ministry June 2004 as a preacher/teacher under the spiritual headship of Senior Pastor Bishop Anthony R. Obey at New Life Baptist Church (NLBC) in Lacey, Washington, and was ordained June 25th, 2006. She has served as President of the New Members Class, Sunday School Teacher, Evangelism Instructor and a member of the Prison Ministry. Minister Angela held the position of president of L.I.F.E. Women’s Ministry for 5 years and was the Co-president of the Marital Enrichment Ministry with her husband Pastor Brown for 13 years.
Minister Angela endeavors to glorify God in all that she does by effectively sharing the Word of God to unbelievers and encouraging those who have already accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. She’s passionate about healthy marriages and women coming together as a unified body of believers. She is dedicated to establishing strong relationships between couples, women and mostly importantly God. She desires that all people be empowered, so they can be used in their homes, community and in their church.
Minister Angela is a graduate of Faith Evangelical College and Seminary in Tacoma, Washington where she obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Religion.
Minister Angela is now the First Lady of St. Paul MBC where her husband Pastor Brown is the senior pastor. Minister Angela faithfully serves on the ministerial staff at St. Paul MBC and is dedicated and committed to declaring God’s word. Although, she has obligations to the ministry team she is dedicated to serving and supporting her husband as he receives guidance and direction from the Lord to lead St. Paul.
